THE ARTIST
The Compost Heap is inspired by the award-winning artwork of George Ashton-Jones. George had hoped to join the army after college, but sadly suffered a knee injury. Instead he moved to Australia, where he worked alongside leading Aussie animator Neil "Rolf" Goodridge. Neil encouraged George to persevere with artistic techniques often forgotten with the onset of computer animation. After 3 years George returned to England, to work for a leading design agency. It was here he met Will Digby and the concept for the Compost Heap was born.
Very quickly many ideas were developed and a range grew. About a year on, George and Will took a step into the unknown, founding the Compost Heap as a design led greeting card publisher. Nearly 4 years on the Compost Heap is firmly established as one of the most creative and recognisable publishers both in England and abroad. Over 150 greeting cards have been developed for all occasions. Additionally you can now buy tea-towels, aprons, mugs, notepads and mulch more. Thank you for your support of the Compost Heap.
Footnote: George lives in Sussex by the sea and is very single
Lonely Artichokes: Fungi needs hot date with nice pear
